Our first Thai Night was held on Saturday 6th April, when guests enjoyed a delicious traditional Thai buffet with entertainment and a bar. Tickets sold out weeks in advance for this unique local event. Great thanks is due to Noi Sear and her fantastic helpers for making the evening such a success. The wonderful Thai dancers, in elegant traditional costume, gave a fabulous dance performance, a real treat that was highly appreciated by the delighted audience. The old school was a beautiful setting, decorated with images of Thailand to add to the vibrant atmosphere. The guests really entered into the spirit of things, adorned in colourful garlands of flowers, many joining in the dancing. The very impressive authentic Thai flavours of the freshly prepared buffet food was greatly enjoyed by all. Guests commented that it was “a fabulous evening, good food, good company, lots of fun! Thank you, Noi, for allowing us to experience authentic Thai food and dance in our village of Saltfleetby”.
The evening raised money for Mablethorpe Fire and Rescue: The raffle raised £177 and Noi kindly rounded that up to £200. After all expenses have been taken out (venue, catering etc) SOSH made £56.11. SOSH rounded this up to £60 to donate to the fire station too. (Our events are not about making money for SOSH but for people to enjoy either free or as close to cost as possible). Later Noi Sear and John Facer were pleased to present their donations from the event to Mablethorpe Fire Station.
