About
Soloby Events Committee
"SEC" organise not-for-profit village events, that are mostly free to attend, aimed at providing more to do and bringing the community together.

Our small committee was formed in 2021 to help organise events to enrich rural life, adding more variety and choice alongside the established village events. We're all volunteers, any profits get put back in to fund future events or donated to charity. New members and ideas are always welcome. We intend to provide a range of social activities to get the community together. taking part in events that all ages can enjoy. We aim to offer something to appeal to all tastes from games for the children and meals for everyone. We hope to reach out to the isolated, disabled and elderly members of the community to provide extra support, connectivity and friendship.

Our events are held different locations in the village such as the new Soloby Old School Café or Marshlands Community Centre the Main Road. We also organise events which take place throughout the whole village, such as the Scarecrow Festival in September, which anyone can participate in simply by making a scarecrow and putting it outside their house! Also the Open Garden event invites any village resident to open up their garden to the public for one weekend in July. The third Monday of the month is Saltfleetby Dinner Club when village residents can enjoy a warm welcome, good company and a delicious FREE home-cooked meal. Every two weeks from Monday 11th November the Old School will open up as a Warm Space, where anyone can come along for FREE to enjoy a cosy place to chat neighbours, play games and have soup, tea, coffee and biscuits.
Enriching rural life with a variety of community events for all.

There are fishing ponds, camp sites and holiday accommodation, a Snooker Club, St Peter's Church, in which services are regularly held, as well as the preserved All Saints Church and Old St Peter's tower (The Stump).
Dunes Nature Reserve
The Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve consists of 1,377 acres of sand dunes, salt marsh, sand and mudflats providing a beautiful haven for wildlife. A hidden gem of the East Coast where visitors can spot wading birds, rare orchids, and amphibians such as the smooth newt and natterjack toad among many other protected species. Managed by Natural England and The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, there are accessible paths around the reserve, viewing platforms giving magnificent views across the dunes and sea, and vast expanses of mudflats and sandy beach. There's even an old rusty tank half buried in the sand!
