On Easter Sunday, 9th April 2023 we held our first Easter Eggstravaganza at the Old School. A beautiful sunny day allowed for the free festivities to be enjoyed in the former school playground with lots of space on the grass for fun and games. Children and adults alike joined in with a magnificent Teddy Bears’ Picnic with ample hot cross buns and drinks served. An Easter Egg Hunt was held where the kids had lots of fun finding chocolate treats to take home. The wonderful creativity and inventiveness of our villagers was displayed at the Easter Bonnet Competition with many beautifully crafted entries. Plenty of materials were provided on a craft table so everyone could have a chance to make something if they wanted, like paper flowers, cards and an Easter Basket to collect their Eggs in. The sale of special hand-crafted chocolates, macaroons, jams and other goodies proved very popular. With lots for all ages to enjoy: a raffle, Easter themed target games, pin the tail on the bunny and more, the well-attended afternoon went down well. Thanks to the efforts of organiser Donna and the rest of the SOSH committee, let’s hope this becomes an annual event!
