Saltfleetby Scarecrow Festival
Frequently asked questions
Yes Please! We recommend registering so we know if it was made by an adult or child (under 16) to enter it into the right judging category, make sure we don't miss any to be photographed and put on the map for others to find.
Please phone John on 07761214219 or email: johnfacer2@yahoo.co.uk to register.
Of course, we'll still photograph any unregistered scarecrows we spot, but might not know they're there in time, or who made them!
If you live nearby and would like to bring a scarecrow to set up in Saltfleetby, please phone John on 07761214219 or email: johnfacer2@yahoo.co.uk to register.

Yes, it's free! Just make a scarecrow and set it up outside your house in Saltfleetby and we'll photograph it for the competition and add it to the map.
Get in touch if you don't have space where you live and want us to find a space for it somewhere in the village.

No, you can make anything you like for your scarecrow!
(Nothing rude or offensive though!)
Adults = over 16s, Children = under 16.

All entries (by either adult or child) can additionally be voted for as the Funniest Scarecrow and Most Original Idea. There's no need to tell us if you're going in for those, all entries will be in the running.
Everyone who makes a scarecrow will get a small gift.
There's a trophy for the overall winner which you keep for a year and we give it to the winner next year.
There are also prizes for the winners and runners up in both adult and child categories, for the funniest and most original scarecrows.
What the prizes are will depend on how many enter the competition.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for "Best Made by an Adult" (made by someone over 16 years of age) and "Best Made by a Child" (under 16).
Please tell us if your scarecrow was made by an adult or child when you register.
An Overall Winner will also be announced who will take home the trophy for a year.
Judges will visit the scarecrows to decide on the winners.
Last year the judging was done by Councillor Noi Sear and her husband Dave. There are categories: Best Scarecrow Made by a Child (under 16), Best Scarecrow Made by an Adult (over 16) and an Overall Winner.
Winners will be announced at the Fun Day on 6th September at Marshlands Community Centre.
Previous Years attendees at the Fun Day voted for their favourites.
